September 26, 2016 — Congratulations to Steven Treadwell, Jr., the 2016 winner of the Richard D. Poole Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is given by Stewart & Tate, Inc. in honor of Rick Poole, the founder of Poole Construction, which is now Stewart & Tate Construction’s Building Group.

Steven is a freshman at Carroll Community College where he will complete two years of courses before attending University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he has already been accepted. Steven will be pursuing a career in engineering and has a particular interest in the fields of mechanical and computer engineering. His dad, Steve, works for Lewis Contractors.
The recipient of the annual scholarship is chosen through an essay contest by a panel of three judges. All high school seniors immediately related to a Stewart & Tate Construction, Lewis Contractors, or Riley Welding & Fabricating full-time employee who plan to further their education are eligible to enter.
