Carver Vocational-Technical High School Students Tour Baltimore’s Washington Monument

May 22, 2014 – Students from Carver Vocational-Technical High School tour restoration work at Washington Monument.

As restoration work at Baltimore’s Washington Monument pushes on, students from Carver Vocational-Technical High School got a first-hand look at the work taking place. Led by members of Lewis Contractors, the group of students learned in detail about the monument’s history and particularly, the trades and extensive work involved in the restoration process.

Students toured the lowest level of the structure where the 200-year-old signatures were discovered and climbed the scaffolding to the monument’s deck to get an up-close look at the extensive and meticulous restoration work being completed to the entire monument.
