Owings Mills, MD— January 1, 2013 -Lewis Contractors has completed the restoration of the Everyman Theatre in downtown Baltimore.
“We are thrilled to have been a part of this exciting project with Everyman Theatre,” said Tyler Tate, Vice President of Lewis Contractors. “Our team here at Lewis takes great pleasure in being a part of restoring downtown Baltimore; this is an outstanding venue for the community.”
The project involved a complete restoration for the adaptive reuse of Baltimore’s Downtown Town Theatre which had been abandoned for years. The comprehensive rehabilitation was completed in order to accommodate the new functionality of the building in the form of a 250 seat theatre, the West Side arts district’s newest jewel. The renovated Everyman Theatre features multiple performance spaces with modernized theatre audio/visual systems. Lewis Contractors also provided full preconstruction and construction services, inclusive of forensic work for this project. Due to the theatre being a historically recognized building, intense measures were taken to insure the existing historical features of the property were preserved. Work on Everyman Theatre was completed in December 2012, on schedule and in time to host the theatre groups’ highly anticipated 2013 performances in their new location. Everyman Theatre project is the recipient of the 2013 Baltimore Heritage Award.
