October 15, 2015 –Lewis Contractors has been awarded AIABaltimore’s 2015 “President’s Award for Contractor of the Year.”
Lewis was awarded the honor at the annual Excellence in Design Awards Celebration held at the Lithuanian Hall on October 9, 2015. The award was given “in recognition of Lewis Contractors’ high level of service and execution in the restoration and rehabilitation of significant historic projects, most recently the Washington Monument at Mount Vernon Place for its 200 year anniversary.”
“The Lewis Team is honored to be recognized by Baltimore’s incredible architectural community,” said Tyler Tate, President of Lewis Contractors, “Whether historic restorations, new constructions, or fast-track renovations, construction projects are collaborative efforts—characterized by trust and dialogue between owner, designer, and builder—as such, we are most honored to be recognized by our architectural colleagues in this way.”
Lewis was further honored in that its recently completed landmark restoration project, the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy Washington Monument, received recognition for the “Michael F. Trostel, FAIA, Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation” and was celebrated as a prime display for the work of the 2015 “Craftsman of the Year” award winner, Worcester Eisenbrandt, Inc.
The annual Excellence in Design Awards competition promotes and publicizes the work of AIABaltimore members throughout the region and recognizes other companies and individuals of special distinction for their contributions to the Baltimore design and construction community.
