April 29, 2016 – Lewis Contractors was recognized for its work on numerous on projects at the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Baltimore Chapter’s annual Excellence in Construction Awards Gala in Baltimore.
Lewis earned four Excellence in Construction Awards at the event and achieved “Platinum” status for its safety training evaluation process. Projects for which the company was recognized for its work include the City of Annapolis Maynard-Burgess House Restoration, Gilman School Science Building Renovations, The Maryland School for the Blind Multiple Disabilities Academic Building, and the Mt. Vernon Place Conservancy Washington Monument.
The yearly event honors the “best of the best” construction projects as measured against the overall satisfaction of clients in the categories of budget, challenges overcome, creativity, positive community impact, project management, safety, scheduling, and workmanship. Judges in this peer reviewed program are knowledgeable and respected construction managers in the Maryland construction industry.
“Our entire Lewis team is very honored to be recognized in this way,” said Tyler Tate, President of Lewis Contractors. “We thank our Owner, Designer, and Trade Contractor partners, and we congratulate our competitors on their own achievements, in which they should take great pride.” Tate added, “What is so meaningful about this awards program is that it recognizes many aspects of a construction project, beyond the demands of on-time, on-budget, quality completion. The program recognizes the quality of a customer’s experience. It lauds the many trade contractors who are so integral to a successful delivery. It acknowledges the interplay between Owner, Designer, and Builders. It celebrates all members of the project team. In this way, the ABC Awards of Excellence is a very special program indeed. A very special evening for all.”
Lewis also received Merit Awards for its work on The Maryland School for the Blind’s Youth Development Field and the Parks and People Foundation’s Sally and Butch Michel Center during the gala.
