September 15, 2015 – Tyler Tate, President of Lewis Contractors and Preservation Maryland VP of the Board, spoke at a press event hosted Monday, September 14 by Preservation Maryland to highlight the need for increased funding of preservation tax credits and grant programs.
Preservation Maryland announced the creation of two coalitions—Campaign for Maryland History and the Maryland Historic Tax Credit Coalition—that have requested the support of Governor Hogan to address the underfunding of preservation programs to help support economic development in Maryland.
As Chairman of the Maryland Historic Tax Credit Coalition, Tate discussed the value of preservation tax credits to Maryland at the event. The Maryland Historic Tax Credit Coalition is requesting increased funding for the program as well as re-authorization of the credit itself in 2017.
Since 1931, Preservation Maryland has worked to protect the places, stories and communities in Maryland that matter through advocacy, outreach and funding. As a non-profit organization, it works with partners across the state to accomplish this important mission and to protect the Best of Maryland.
