September 29, 2014 – Lewis has been chosen to build the new Havre de Grace Library on the corner of North Union and Pennington avenues in Harford County.
The project will involve the demolition of the old building and construction a new two-story, 19,000 SF facility in its place. The new public library will feature a meeting room, courtyard, literacy center for children, and a learning space for elementary school students.
Demolition of the existing building is expected to begin in mid-October with construction of the new library to last about 18 months. During construction, the Havre de Grace library will operate temporarily in the Tidewater Marina Building at 203 Market St.
Lewis was selected from a prequalified list of bidders by the Harford County Board of Estimates to complete the $6.62 million project. The designer of the facility is Manns Woodward Studios of White Marsh.
