September 20, 2017 – Lewis Contractors, an award winning construction management and general contracting firm based in Owings Mills, Maryland, is pleased to announce a key board appointment of a member of its Leadership Team.
In her role as Director of Business Development for Lewis Contractors, Olivia Jacobson manages a team of dedicated professionals assigned to further the growth objectives for Maryland’s most awarded construction management/ general contracting firm. As she credits much of her success to having been a student in public education, Olivia is honored to have been asked to serve as a Board Member for The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools. Jacobson is a mother to two current and future BCPS students and a member of her local Parent/Teacher Assocation. Through her work on the Foundation, Olivia will strive to ensure today’s students have the same positive, impactful experience that she came to appreciate by continuing to improve one of the nation’s most highly ranked public school institutions.
Led by Foundation Executive Director Deborah Phelps, former Maryland State Superintendent of Schools Nancy Grasmick, and Interim Baltimore County Schools Superintendent Verletta White, it is the mission of the Foundation to solicit and facilitate community and corporate funding to support the goal of deliberate excellence for every student, school and community within the County Schools. Jacobson joined the 33-member board in early summer and is one of only three members representing the field of construction. Other Board Members are executives from virtually every business sector located within the County. Also associated with the Board are recent County Schools’ graduates and current students.
In her role as Board Member, Olivia will help schools receive grants for arts, culture, civic, environmental, economic, entrepreneurial literacy and global awareness, aid students in receiving scholarships for post-secondary education and promote the advancement of technology based learning for every student through supplementary funding from the County business community.
As a rising community leader and part of the Leadership Team at Lewis Contractors, Olivia also serves as a Board Member for The Peale Center, is on the Building Committee for Outward Bound Chesapeake, is a member of the Historic Resources Committee with AIA Baltimore, and sits on the General Contractors’ Council for Associated Builders & Contractors Baltimore Chapter.
