York County History Center | Addition & Renovation (Under Construction)
Lewis Contractors has been contracted by the York County History Center, formerly the York County Heritage Trust, for its new headquarters and museum. The project involves renovating the former Met-Ed building—once a steam heat generating plant—and the construction of a link addition that will bridge to the adjacent structure on the northeast corner of West Philadelphia Street and North Pershing Avenue in downtown York, Pennsylvania. The newly created space will house a museum, library and archives, consolidating two more prominent museums into one core exhibit and provide suitable space for borrowed exhibits, allowing for a more frequent rotation of exhibits and artifacts.
