Beth Tfiloh Congregation & School Campus Improvements

Beth Tfiloh Congregation & Community School Campus Improvements delivered by Lewis Contractors represent a coordinated, multi‑phase investment in academic, athletic, administrative, and congregational facilities within an active faith‑based environment. Executed across multiple building types and site conditions, the work required careful planning, disciplined sequencing, and construction solutions that protected daily school operations, worship services, and community activities throughout every phase.

Lewis Contractors’ scope included administrative office additions and renovations that modernized building systems and redefined the campus’s primary entrance, improving circulation, security, and functionality for students, staff, congregants, and visitors. These renovations were performed adjacent to occupied offices and active sanctuary spaces, requiring contained work zones, off‑hours tie‑ins, negative air and dust control, and detailed coordination around class schedules and service times to minimize disruption.

Academic facilities were expanded through construction of a new Lower School building delivered using a CM‑at‑Risk approach. Early contractor involvement allowed Lewis Contractors to guide cost modeling, constructability reviews, and schedule development during design. The resulting facility was constructed with durable materials, advanced acoustical treatments, and high‑efficiency mechanical systems to support modern educational programming and high daily occupancy, while achieving an accelerated completion and returning cost savings to the Owner.

Athletic amenities were significantly improved with redevelopment of the Jacob Benus Memorial Athletic Field, replacing an existing natural grass field with a high‑performance synthetic turf system designed for year‑round, multi‑sport use. The project was executed within a constrained site with limited access, winter earthwork conditions, and extensive subsurface rock removal, all while maintaining safe student circulation and daily campus operations.

The campus partnership also included a technically complex sanctuary skylight installation, which restored natural daylight while permanently resolving long‑standing water infiltration. Lewis Contractors executed the work entirely from the exterior using custom scaffolding, temporary roof walkways, and a purpose‑built working platform, allowing religious services and school activities to continue uninterrupted below.

Across all phases, Lewis Contractors coordinated closely with campus leadership and trade partners to align construction activities with academic calendars, security protocols, and faith‑based operations. Together, these efforts form a cohesive, campus‑wide investment that strengthens learning, athletics, and worship through the Beth Tfiloh Congregation & Community School Campus Improvements program.
