Archbishop Curley High School | Fine Arts Addition & Renovation

This General Contractor project involved the construction of a one-story Fine Arts Addition at Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, Maryland. The project involved renovations to the existing auditorium, as well as construction of new costume storage and dressing rooms, new music rehearsal rooms and instrument storage rooms, instrumental classrooms, vocal classrooms and solo rooms, and a new visual arts studio. The 16,500 SF addition linked to the main floor of the school and affords handicapped accessibility to the stage and auditorium and the easy transport of instruments from classrooms. A separate addition for inclusion of an elevator was part of the scope. The project itself is steel construction with the generous use of curtain wall at the brick veneer. All work was completed at Archbishop Curley’s occupied academic campus where stringent site safety and security measures were essential, as was the careful and proactive coordination of the work with the Owner’s ongoing school activities.
